Visiting Artist, Greenville SC 2017

Mary E (ME) Simon enjoys working in a variety of mediums, making each piece fresh and exciting as she changes styles and textures.  Inspired by her surroundings, she works primarily from her own photographs and experiences from the different parts of the world she has lived and traveled with her family.  From 2013-2016, Mary lived in Athens, Greece, for her husband’s career. Since their return to the states, Mary has been thrilled to combine that experience with her new artwork as she continually learns and grows as an Artist.

Select accomplishments by the Artist during her time in Athens include:

  • Parthenon Pediment, watercolor installed in Art Collection American Embassy Athens 2016

  • Athens Heritage Art Project (AHAP), Committee Member 2016

  • Artist Residency, Skopelos Foundation for the Arts, Skopelos, Greece 2015

  • Solo Exhibitions, American Embassy Athens, Greece (approximately 20-22 new paintings each Exhibition) 2016, 2015, 2014

NOTE FROM THE ARTIST AS OF FEBRUARY 2019:  Continually working my way out of my comfort zone, looking forward to sharing exciting news for this coming year, stay tuned! I have been blessed with Guest Artist opportunities, local Exhibitions, and vendor shows since May 2017.  I've also begun offering my new Eco Art works locally, a passion of mine forever!  Questions and commissions always considered and welcomed. Thank you for stopping by!  (In the words of a wise man, "If it were easy, everyone would be doing it!")
